Schollarr (schollarr.com) – Transforming Access to International Education
Project Description:
As a Front-end Developer, I was part of the core engineering team behind schollarr.com, a community-driven social platform designed to bridge the gap between aspiring scholars and international education experts across the globe.
My role focused on designing and building a fast, intuitive, and responsive user interface that delivers real-time collaboration, mentorship booking, and opportunity discovery, all optimized for users in low-bandwidth regions
What I Delivered:
Developed and deployed a fully responsive frontend using React.js and Tailwind CSS, prioritizing accessibility and performance.
Integrated secure user authentication and dynamic dashboards tailored to 5+ user roles: aspiring scholars, mentors, faculty, institutions, and service vendors.
Built interactive features like mentorship scheduling, opportunities hub, real-time forum, and profile customization.
Implemented clean UX patterns and API integration with backend systems (Node.js + Express) and third-party tools (Stripe, Google Auth, Flutterwave).
Created reusable UI components and maintained design consistency using atomic design principles.
Collaborated closely with product and design teams to ship MVP on time and iterate based on user feedback.
Impact:
Onboarded 700+ users within 6 months across 14+ countries.
Achieved a 45% weekly retention rate.
Supported launch of a full mentorship marketplace with paid session booking.
Delivered a lightweight and high-performance experience for users on both desktop and mobile
