DiliAcademy runs online training programs that teach people how to become content creators. The program is structured into multiple learning modules, each covering a different phase of the content creation journey.
They needed custom illustrations to serve as module thumbnails and hero visuals for each section. Off-the-shelf stock illustrations wouldn't work: the modules are specific to content creation workflows, and the visuals needed to communicate each phase clearly enough to attract non-participants and guide enrolled learners through the program.

The Users
Two groups:
Prospective learners browsing the program who need to quickly understand what each module covers before enrolling
Enrolled participants (learners and professionals starting their content creator career) who use the illustrations as visual anchors while progressing through the curriculum
For both groups, the illustrations needed to communicate module content at a glance.

The Process
Step 1: Study every module. I went through the full curriculum to understand what each phase of the training covers, from beginner fundamentals to advanced creator strategies.
Step 2: Sketch scenarios. For each module, I sketched the scenario that most clearly represents that learning phase. The goal was to find the single visual that communicates the module's purpose fastest.
Step 3: Deliver production-ready illustrations. Each sketch was refined into a polished, ready-to-use illustration formatted for both thumbnail and hero section placement.

The Key Design Decision
I used a cartoon character and superhero visual style across the entire illustration set. The concept: zero to hero.
Each illustration follows a character on their journey from beginner to "super content creator." This serves two purposes:
For non-participants, the superhero progression makes the modules and their sequence immediately understandable, helping convert browsers into enrolled learners
For enrolled participants, the character's journey mirrors their own, providing visual inspiration as they progress through each phase
The superhero framing turns what could be a dry module list into a narrative arc that people want to follow.

The Outcome
DiliAcademy ran this as a one-time webinar series, which has since concluded. The results: 322 participants enrolled, and 260 of them went on to become active content creators. That's an 80% conversion rate from learner to practitioner.
The illustrations played a direct role in that pipeline: they helped prospective learners understand the program quickly enough to sign up, and kept enrolled participants visually engaged throughout the curriculum.

Designed a cartoon superhero illustration system for DiliAcademy's content creator training modules. Used as thumbnails and hero visuals across the program.
