VIJO App

Project Type: Logo and Video Storyboarding, Creative Direction Role: Designer, Illustrator Senior Animator: Shoeb Muhammad Client: VIJO

Summary

VIJO is a unique app that allows users to document their personal stories, offering a more intimate and expressive medium rather than traditional journaling. Additional features of the app are layered voice analytics, where the app analyzes and distinguishes itself simple tone analysis the moment you journal through voice recognition. After that, it will detect micro-expressions and emotional signals and sends you statistics of your emotional status within a day. Another feature is having a personal conversation to help you through your emotions with the use of chatgpt bot to provide you more empathic responses and gives you encouragement throughout your personal journey.

The Challenge

Logo Animation

To create a visual animated logo that will be used to the intro and outro of their reusable.

Video Animation

Create an animated video for VIJO's homepage that illustrates everyday life scenarios, highlighting how the app supports users in improving their mental well-being through journaling. The animation should also reflect VIJO’s core values and mission in an engaging and emotionally resonant way to create impact to the viewers.

Key Role

For the logo animation, I focus on the VIJO icon that looks like a winking guy and started using their brand colors as my starting point. Then each colors will sway and fill up the borders of the icon face and then the "V" will act out as a wink emote at the end.
For the video animation, we already have the script to follow frame by frame and use Illustrator as my software to create vector characters that will reflect to the script. The challenge is to create each scene that will fit into a 1 minute video while explaining how each motion should blend in. Since we only have 1 month to do it, I decided to start doing it in Illustrator rather than sketching it in draft as it will take us much time approving the storyboard given the gap between the our timezones and the availability of our schedule during working hours. At the end, we finished the storyboard based on our client's wants.
