Transient Labs

Overview

Transient Labs is a suite of web3 tools for creators and brands. Stacks is a new product offering in which digital creators can create, customize, and deploy digital artwork on chain, via Transient Labs's contract creation platform The Lab.

In collaboration with Operating System, I was brought onboard for UX audits, design system support and creation, and mobile design. Stacks is currently in live Beta, and can be accessed attransientlabs.xyz.

Empowering Creators in Web3

My work began with creating complex interactive components and standard autolayouts for the Stacks dashboard and throughout the product flow. The result consisted of a successfully implemented design for a Version 1 Beta product for Transient Labs.

Initial work consisted of autolayout and component creation for 2 user flows

Work performed included type and grouping hierarchy, spacing, and responsive autolayout frames.

Contract Creation screen with default, hover, and active state form fields

Mint Page Screen included a 12 state complex minting component, drop downs, and sticky position components.

Launch, User Feedback, and Redesign

Upon launch, Transient Labs received immediate and ample user feedback requesting a need to simplify the user experience.

With tight turnaround times, I got to work on auditing the current flow, noting areas for improvement in information architecture, and the over all mental model that users needed to navigate the interface.

This resulted in a complete redesign that reduced the total screens in the flow from 9 to only 3, optimizing for a reduced cognitive load and time to complete task.

Impact

This redesign pioneered an information architecture that ensured optimal user experience, with reduced cognitive load and improved metrics like time to complete task, usability satisfaction, and task success rate.

Work continues in mobile, new flows for different smart contracts, and implementation of user feedback into ongoing improvement efforts. Mobile layouts, components, and design system maintenance are all part of supporting the growth of Transient Labs.
