Interactive EV Automobile Mobile App

A fully interactive electric vehicle dashboard built entirely in Rive. Real-time data binding, sliding shelves, animated charging states, and a multi-screen navigation system. Every interaction responds to touch. Nothing is a mockup.

The idea

Electric vehicle interfaces need to feel alive. Responsive, fluid, and tactile. I wanted to build something that captures that feeling using only Rive. No game engine, no video, no sprite sheets. A real interactive prototype where every shelf slides, every number updates, and every tap triggers a designed response.

The interface

Charging control

At the center of the experience is a live charging state. The charging number is connected to real data through Rive's data binding system. It is not hardcoded or faked. The value updates dynamically, and you can scrub it yourself to see the interface respond in real time. Charging can be paused and resumed with a single tap, giving the dashboard a tangible, responsive feel.

Sliding shelves

Two illustrated shelves sit on either side of the vehicle. Solar Input and Reserve Battery. Each one slides up on tap, revealing its content, and slides back down with a swipe. The motion is smooth and physical, designed to feel like a real control surface rather than a static menu. These shelves were illustrated by hand in an isometric style, then animated and rigged inside Rive for full interactivity.

Charging type selector

A drop-down interaction lets you switch between charging modes. Fast charging, standard, and others. Tap to expand, tap to collapse. The animation is tight and purposeful, built to feel like a native mobile control.

Menu navigation

Four buttons sit at the bottom of the screen, each representing a different menu. A sliding indicator moves between them. From one to four, two to three, any combination. It responds instantly to your selection. A small detail, but it is the kind of micro-interaction that makes an interface feel considered.

This project pushed Rive's component system to its limit. Every element. The vehicle, the shelves, the menu bar, the charging display. Each one is a separate component composed together on a single artboard. This modular approach keeps everything organized and reusable, and it is an advanced way of working in Rive that most projects never reach.

Illustrated, designed, animated

Every visual in this project was designed and illustrated by hand before being animated. The isometric perspective runs through the entire system. The vehicle, the shelves, the panels. Creating a cohesive world that feels crafted rather than assembled. The illustrations were then rigged with state machines, inputs, and data bindings to bring them to life.

A closer look at the solar input shelf in action. The charging animation plays out with real-time feedback. The panels animate, the numbers update, and the whole system feels like it is actually drawing power.
