Overview

Odd Bird VC is a venture capital firm actively raising a round, which meant their site needed to hold up to investor scrutiny on more than just visuals. The engagement covered rebuilding SEO-blocking components natively in Framer, a full responsive pass across desktop breakpoints and mobile, and fixing a DNS misconfiguration that was affecting site reliability for some visitors. Working in collaboration with bilal.agency, the goal was a site that performs as well as it looks.

The Challenge

Several of the site's key sections, the hero, founder quotes, and portfolio moments grid, were built as client-side code components. They looked exactly right but rendered in a way that search engines couldn't reliably index, a real liability for a firm mid-raise. On top of that, scaling above certain breakpoints softened images, padding felt cramped at mid-range widths, mobile layouts needed real restructuring rather than simple shrinking, and the root domain was missing DNS records that the www subdomain already had.

The approach

Each SEO-blocking component was rebuilt natively in Framer to be pixel-identical to the original design, trading nothing visually for full crawlability. Content width was capped and later extended based on direct client feedback, landing on a breakpoint that stayed sharp on large screens without stretching indefinitely. Mobile sections were restructured from horizontal to vertical layouts with tightened spacing and clearer hierarchy. The DNS issue was diagnosed and corrected by adding the missing A records to the root domain.

The Details

Delivery moved through staging first, page by page, with feedback closed out in rounds before the next page moved forward. The final site scales smoothly up to 1800+ pixels and was verified on a staging preview before going live to production. The SEO rebuild and responsive work were scoped and delivered together as a fixed $210, 3-day sprint.

The outcome

The site launched fully crawlable, consistent across breakpoints and mobile, and reachable on the root domain worldwide. The client came back for further rounds of refinement post-launch, and left positive feedback on the collaboration.

Recommendation

"Bilal and his team did an exceptional job. His persistence throughout the project and patience with our requests ensured we always got the highest quality output. Many designers stop once the basics are delivered, but Bilal and his team went further by iterating until the work truly matched our expectations, even beyond the initial deliverable."
