A Modular Booking SaaS That Replaced 100% of Manual Work

A premium wellness brand was drowning in manual booking work — and wanted software that could not only fix it, but be resold to other businesses. I helped build a modular booking SaaS that automated 100% of their manual operations and was architected from day one to become a standalone product.
I led development, with a dedicated team, delivered on a tight timeline.

100% Manual work automated
Modular Built to resell as SaaS
Square Payments integrated
Multi-location Booking & pricing

Industry: Wellness
Stack: React, Django, Python, PHP, JavaScript, Square
Plus: Custom WordPress connector plugin
Services: Branding, Web Design, Web Development, SaaS App Development, Custom Software Development

Boomdevs delivered exactly what we needed, right on time. The new booking system has made our day-to-day smoother, and their team was easy to work with the whole way through.

— Sam B, COO, Rooftop Saunas

The goal: software that pays for itself twice

Rooftop Saunas runs premium sauna experiences, and their booking operation had outgrown manual processes. They didn't just want a booking tool — they wanted a bespoke SaaS platform that would automate their operations and be modular enough to sell to other wellness businesses as a product of its own. One build, two business cases.
It also had to plug directly into their existing WordPress site.

The challenge: a big feature set on a tight clock

The platform needed a lot, fast: multi-location booking with dynamic pricing, service management, customer and agent profiles, Square payment integration, automated notifications, coupons and membership points, campaign tools, and a real-time analytics dashboard — plus a custom WordPress plugin to connect bookings to their existing site.
The constraint was time. This was a feature-rich product on an aggressive deadline, which meant the architecture had to be clean and the team had to move in tight, well-planned sprints.

How I built it

The stack was chosen for speed and scale: React for a dynamic front-end, Django/Python and PHP on the back-end, Square for payments. I worked with a dedicated team — multiple full-stack developers plus a WordPress specialist — and the key architectural decision was modularity: every part of the system was built as a self-contained module.
That one decision served both goals at once. It let us build and integrate features in parallel to hit the deadline, and it made the platform resellable — because a modular system can be reconfigured for another business without a rebuild.
To connect it all to their existing site, I built a custom WordPress plugin that embeds booking forms and calendars directly into their WordPress pages. Before launch, we migrated all data from their old booking system and tested heavily — non-negotiable when real customer bookings are on the line.

The hard part

The interesting tension here was building for two customers at once: Rooftop Saunas today, and the hypothetical businesses they'd resell to tomorrow. Most booking systems are built for one operator. This one had to be generic enough to resell but specific enough to run a real business on day one. Modularity was the answer — but getting those module boundaries right, under a tight deadline, was the real engineering challenge.

The outcome

100% of manual booking work automated — the day-to-day runs itself
Operational losses eliminated — the old software was costing them money; the new one stopped the bleed
More bookings through a smoother, faster customer experience
A resellable SaaS asset — built modular, so it can become a product line, not just an internal tool
Delivered on a tight timeline with a dedicated team

The smartest software does double duty — solve today's problem in a way that becomes tomorrow's product. That was the brief, and the build delivered it.
