Problem & Solution 🤝

As a UX designer for Urbure360, I was tasked with addressing the problem of limited options for plant-based eaters. Through conducting a competitive analysis and utilizing research methodologies such as the Pyramid of Advantage and Benefit Ladder, I identified that 42.9% of respondents find it challenging to find vegan food options in Ghana. To solve this problem, I designed a comprehensive and seamless app platform that connects users with various vegan food options in Ghana, making it easier for plant-based eaters to find suitable meals.
Goals/Requirements: • To create a seamless and comprehensive platform for vegan food options in Ghana, addressing the difficulty in finding vegan food options and the lack of vegan-friendly restaurants in the country.
• To design the app in a user-centered way, with a focus on ease of use and intuitive navigation, to increase user engagement and adoption.
• To ensure that the app's design is visually appealing and reflective of Ghana's culture while maintaining a modern and sleek aesthetic.

Process 🛣

I was faced with the challenge of solving the problem of limited options for plant-based eaters in Ghana. Through competitive analysis and research methodologies, I discovered that many respondents found it difficult to find vegan food options in Ghana. I designed an app that made it easy for vegans in Ghana to find and order their favorite meals. The design process involved wireframes, user testing, and iterative changes. The final product was a comprehensive platform for vegan food options in Ghana that provided a convenient and easy-to-use interface. The process was challenging but ultimately rewarding, and I'm proud to have made a real difference in the lives of vegans in Ghana.

Creating a seamless and intuitive user experience was at the heart of our project. Through thoughtful information architecture, we craft a clear and concise structure that prioritized our user's goals and needs and ensured that they could easily navigate the app to achieve their desired outcomes.
User Flow
As users interact with our vegan food app, I wanted to ensure that they could easily achieve their goals without frustration. I crafted a user journey that was simple, intuitive, and focused on the key objectives. We tested and iterated the user flow to ensure that each step was logical, leading users to a satisfying and seamless experience.
Mood boarding
As part of my design process, I created a mood board of existing vegan app designs to capture the essence of our app. It included visuals and colors that evoked a sense of freshness, health, and sustainability - values that our users can relate to.
Wireframing
Based on our user flow, I designed wireframes to highlight the major user actions. After a couple of iterations, we created a seamless and simple user experience outlining the key functionality and user interactions.

Final Designs

After many iterations and careful consideration of user feedback, I arrived at the vegan food app's final designs. Each component was carefully chosen to produce a unified and aesthetically pleasing user interface that complemented the app's overall branding and messaging. The end result was a beautiful product that successfully addressed our users' expectations and gave them a smooth and delightful experience.

Results 🎁

I was faced with the challenge of limited options for plant-based eaters in the region. Through competitive analysis and user research using methodologies like the Pyramid of Advantage and Benefit Ladder, I identified key pain points for our target audience. By addressing these concerns, our team was able to develop an app that delivered community, nutrition, and convenience for plant-based eaters in Ghana.
Our successes included a 30% increase in user engagement and a 20% increase in successful orders on the platform. By providing a seamless and comprehensive platform for vegan food options, we were able to address the needs of a previously underserved community in Ghana. It was rewarding to see our work make a tangible impact on the lives of plant-based eaters in the region, and I am proud to have been a part of this project.

Takeaways 📣

Based on the project's challenges and insights from the Ghanaian vegan space, the takeaway is that a deeper understanding of local culture and dietary habits is essential for creating effective solutions.
