About the Brand

The Shelter, Boutique Hotel in Abidjan, entrusted us with the task of transforming their brand identity and brand strategy, along with creating a user-friendly online booking website. In May, we embarked on this journey, and by mid-June, we delivered a comprehensive solution that aimed to elevate The Shelter's reputation, professionalize their brand image, and instill trust and confidence in their target audience.
The Shelter, nestled in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, is a haven for relaxation and beauty. Our mission was to craft a sanctuary that immerses guests in the richness of Ivorian culture while providing the warmth of unparalleled hospitality. With 8 elegant rooms, a sprawling green garden, and a rooftop, The Shelter offers a unique experience. Our concept revolves around creating a friendly refuge where guests feel at home, connecting with Ivorian culture, and embracing a certain art de vivre.
Our core values—heartfelt hospitality, authenticity, immersive experience, simplicity & excellence, and open-mindedness—are the pillars of our brand. We aim to offer every guest a warm, attentive, and personalized experience, allowing them to immerse themselves in Ivorian culture through gastronomy, music, and decoration. The Shelter is a welcoming place for everyone, a space where traditions seamlessly blend with contemporary elegance.

Brand Concept

Our brand concept for The Shelter, Boutique Hotel, revolves around celebrating the prideness of Ivorian roots while offering a luxurious and open-minded atmosphere. We wanted to create a shelter where guests could relax and indulge in a wellness-oriented environment with a touch of luxury.
The brand's visual identity reflects this concept. The logo, with its abstract shapes reminiscent of roots and African patterns, exudes elegance and luxury while paying homage to Africa. This blend of luxury and Africa's rich culture sets The Shelter apart in the boutique hotel industry in Ivory Coast.
Every aspect of the hotel, from its decoration to lifestyle offerings, is thoughtfully crafted to provide an immersive experience. It's a place where guests can not only stay but also participate in a carefully designed experience that leaves a lasting impression.

Challenge & Solutions

Our comprehensive solutions for The Shelter included a complete rebranding strategy, brand identity design, and the creation of a user-friendly online booking website. The challenge lay in finding an online booking solution on WordPress that aligned with the hotel's needs. It needed to be easy for their teams to learn and compatible with other tools, including the Hoteliga platform, a local cloud hotel management system, to prevent double booking and synchronization.
We also had to ensure the implementation of a payment gateway compatible with Africa, particularly Orange Money, to cater to the diverse range of guests.
In summary, our collaboration with The Shelter, Boutique Hotel, resulted in a transformed brand identity, an immersive experience for guests, and a robust online booking system that not only meets their needs but also sets them apart in the hospitality industry in Ivory Coast. We take pride in helping The Shelter embody its core values and stand as a haven of serenity and cultural celebration in Abidjan.
