Overview 🔎

I was contacted by the publisher of this work, Sanctuary Publishing, to do a full copyedit of their multi-author book about overcoming burn out and finding nourishment. It was a twelve author book and about 35,000 words. I provided a full medium copyedit along with individual notes for each author.

Problem & Solution 🤝

The hardest part of this project was letting each author have their individual voice and story while making this look and feel like a comprehensive and cohesive book. I used my style sheet to enforce word consistency and syntax throughout the book, so as not to jar the reader with multiple dialects or confusing phrasing.

Goals/Requirements: • Create consistency across twelve authors • Improve overall readability • Eliminate as many grammar and syntax errors as possible.

Process 🛣

I created a style sheet to create a uniform visual format, to create a consistency in language and punctuation, and I created a reference for all information that was provided.

Results 🎁

The authors were able to incorporate all or most of the edits as they saw fit. The publisher was able to make their publishing deadline and loved the results and multiple streams of feedback.
