SEO Content Strategy for Social Media Management App

Project Brief

SEO content planner and blog editor for a social media management app.

Overview

A Japanese social media management software startup needed writers for their English-language blog to reach international markets. After the interview process, they offered me the role of SEO content planner and editor instead of a standard writing position, seeking someone with strategic planning abilities, editorial expertise, and deep understanding of web and social media marketing.
This expanded role involved developing comprehensive content strategies, creating detailed briefs for an international writing team, and ensuring all content met both SEO requirements and brand voice standards across multiple markets.

The Process

Working from a comprehensive keyword hierarchy in a shared spreadsheet, I developed strategic content briefs for each blog post, defining target personas, key insights, and desired reader actions.
I then coordinated content creation across an international team of 3 writers, providing editorial oversight to maintain quality standards through collaborative editing in Google Docs. All project communication was managed via Slack.

Results

Delivered 10 content briefs and edited 10 articles monthly for 2 years, consistently meeting SEO requirements while maintaining brand voice consistency. Multiple blog posts achieved page 1 Google rankings, demonstrating effective SEO strategy execution.
