🧠 About the Project
Ingrify is a free AI-powered Ingredient scanning app for Indian grocery shopper that allows users to scan the barcodes of food product and instantly see their impact on health. It enables users to make informed, confident decisions about packaged food.
🚧 The Challenge
The goal was to position Ingrify as a reliable, first-line decision support tool for everyday food choices, but it required:
A user experience that simplifies complex ingredient information into quick, actionable insights.
An interface that balances accuracy with ease of understanding, avoiding overwhelming users with technical jargon.
A seamless, mobile-first flow that supports barcode scanning, ingredient scanning, and personalized recommendations.

✍️ My Approach
As the product designer, I led the end-to-end design process from research and problem framing to final UI and usability validation:
Mapped user journeys around real-time food decision-making, focusing on scanning, understanding, and choosing products quickly
Designed a hybrid scanning experience combining barcode reliability with AI-based ingredient analysis for broader coverage
Built a personalization system based on dietary preferences, allergies, and health conditions to deliver relevant insights
Iterated on the experience through usability testing, improving scan clarity, trust, and decision confidence.
