1) Project overview
The challenge was to create a streamlined and accurate data capture system for the worldwide launch of the game without having access to actual production events or data. Additionally, the organization needed a solid foundation for data analysis, which they can use from day 1.
2) Actions
Collaborated effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, product managers, and data analysts, to ensure a cohesive approach to event specifications.
Took ownership of defining the precise data requirements and event specifications to capture essential player interactions and behaviors, and transaction details
Prioritized and actively monitored the implementation of these specifications by conducting rigorous quality assurance (QA) checks on newly implemented events, promptly flagging and addressing any issues.
Conducted manual checks on the generated database tables to evaluate the accuracy and completeness of the collected data.
Implemented automated data quality checks within the database tables, setting up alerts to immediately notify the organization in the event of any data inconsistencies or anomalies.

3) Result
With the preparation and robust event specifications, the organization was able to identify and address any issues promptly. As a result, the game achieved 1+ million average daily active users within the first 4 months of its launch.
The implementation of automated data quality checks reduced the time required for identifying and addressing data inconsistencies by 50%, resulting in more efficient data operations.
My QA checks and manual data evaluations contributed to a 98% data accuracy rate, enhancing the reliability of insights derived from our data.
