Bite is a mobile app that brings a fresh, social approach to reviewing dishes. It allows users to share food photos, write quick reviews, and explore dishes from restaurants in a fun, visually engaging way.

The objective was to create an intuitive and engaging user interface for Bite that makes sharing and discovering dishes simple and enjoyable. The goal was to design an app that offers an experience akin to scrolling through a visual social feed while focusing on culinary reviews.

1️⃣ Evolving Visual Appeal into Complete Usability The interface needed to be visually appealing, robust, and user-friendly.

2️⃣ Streamlined Navigation and Interaction Users needed a straightforward way to navigate between exploring dishes, writing reviews, and managing profiles without feeling overwhelmed.

3️⃣ User Familiarity and Interaction Style Ensuring the interface was intuitive for users accustomed to existing social media platforms was essential for immediate comfort and ease of use.

The design journey began with extensive research into user needs and existing solutions. This allowed me to outline a clear vision for Bite’s user flow, ensuring that it aligned with the behaviors and expectations of food enthusiasts.

✅ User Research I researched food lovers to understand their motivations and habits. Insights showed that users enjoyed the visual-first discovery aspect of social media and wanted a platform that focused specifically on food.

✅ User Flows and Wireframes Early sketches and wireframes were created to plan the user journey from opening the app to discovering, reviewing, and sharing dishes. These wireframes focused on a swipe gesture system, which made exploring the feed quick and engaging.

✅ High-Fidelity Designs Building on user feedback, I developed high-fidelity designs. These designs incorporated clear navigation tabs, full-screen photos, and a simple way for users to interact with each dish.

The Bite app features a visually driven feed of food images, allowing users to explore dishes through intuitive gestures like swiping left to reject, right to like, up for reviews, and down to search. Users can capture and review dishes, rate them, and write short reviews.
