Slavic Soundwalking (SSW) is an immersive storytelling platform that connects contemporary urban narratives to real-world locations across three slavic cities: Zagreb, Ljubljana and Belgrade.

Authored by writers from Croatia, Serbia, and Slovenia, SSW features a collection of 75 contemporary short stories - inspired by Slavic culture and urban spaces. The platform maps these narratives onto the geography of three main cities, allowing users to experience literature as a layered, ambient journey through real-world locations.

Every design and experience decision was made to honor the subtlety of storytelling: the platform needed to act as a quiet mediator between the writer’s voice, the listener’s journey, and the city’s physical landscape. Clean, but trending interfaces, muted visual language, and intuitive navigation were employed to foreground the narrative itself, allowing users to drift between stories, spaces, and sensations without interruption.

The visual identity draws inspiration from the intricate patterns found in traditional Slavic ornamentation.

The acronym SSW forms the structural basis of the mark, with each element placed to suggest movement, evoking the rhythm of two legs in motion, taking steps. At the center, the circular dot mirrors a geolocation pin, subtly reinforcing the project’s connection to place, navigation, and exploration.

The design blends tradition with movement, and history with journey, in a way that it reflects Slavic Soundwalking’s essence as a cultural and spatial experience.
