Hyprace is a mobile application dedicated to Formula One. It aggregates every piece of race data, driver statistics, and team information that exists since 1950 up to the present day. Because of the depth of its dataset, it stands out as perhaps the most complete F1 reference app on the market.
Project Specs
The original Hyprace app was already published in the iOS and Android
stores, but its user interface was cumbersome and failed to showcase the
richness of the underlying data. The back-end, already built, reliable,
and fully populated, did not need to change ; only the presentation layer
required a fresh start.
I set out to rebuild the entire front‑end from scratch using FlutterFlow, allowing rapid prototyping without sacrificing code quality, and matching the existing code‑base while taking advantage of a single cross‑platform solution. The goal was to deliver a brand‑new identity and launch a minimum viable product within a few weeks.
Key requirements were:
Support for English and French languages.
Light‑mode and Dark‑mode themes.
A design that could evolve with future features.
Complete Redesign
The redesign began with a new visual language inspired by the speed and precision of Formula One. A bold logo, a dynamic color palette, and modern typography replaced the dated elements of the previous version.
Using FlutterFlow, I constructed reusable UI components, cards for driver profiles, tab bars for navigating between drivers, teams, and Grand Prix events with animated tracks. These components were assembled into a fluid, intuitive flow that lets users move from a driver’s career overview to a specific race result with a
single tap.
Because the back-end remained mostly unchanged, the new UI connected directly to the existing RESTful APIs.
During the beta phase, the team conducted usability tests with a group of Formula One enthusiasts. Test participants highlighted the dramatic reduction in the number of taps required to find information. Their feedback guided final refinements to navigation gestures and accessibility labels.
Hyprace is available on both the App Store and Google Play. Try it now!
This project illustrates how a solid back-end can be revitalized through a focused UI redesign, modern tooling, and a clear visual identity ; all delivered within a compressed timeline. Teams that face legacy interfaces, multilingual requirements, or the need for rapid market entry can adopt a similar approach:
Leverage Flutter for cross‑platform consistency.
Employ a visual builder like FlutterFlow for maximum speed.
If your organization is looking to create a brand new product, or transform an existing one into a sleek, future‑proof experience while keeping development cycles short, this project provides a proven roadmap.
Let’s discuss how we can apply these lessons to your next project.
From a clunky legacy app to a sleek, multilingual experience built entirely in FlutterFlow. Hyprace showcases how a focused redesign can transform a product.
