Roots Kitchen & Cannery Branding & Web Design

I've been working with Roots Kitchen & Cannery since it's inception in 2012, when I developed the product labels and logo they continue to use today. Their iconic beet logo began as a hand-carved linocut print that was then vectorized to maintain it's organic edges.

The product labels, inspired by pennant flags, feature vibrant color blocking and bold minimalist fonts - a fitting visual for the fearless flavors within.

In contrast to standard product photos, their online shop used graphic imagery and whimsical illustrations of the fruits, veggies, herbs and teas they adeptly transform into zesty pickles and complex preserves, lending a bespoke quality to the online shopping experience.

In 2025 I re-designed their website to reflect the evolving spirit of this originative company. With a new color pallet of complimentary hues and abstract serpentine shapes - designed to mimic haphazard splashes of delicious jams - I transformed their established brand into something fresh and modern.
