HomeHarbor is a mobile real estate application designed to help users easily discover, save, and book rental properties through a clean, trust-focused, and visually engaging experience.
Problem
Finding a rental property online can be overwhelming and frustrating.
Users often face cluttered interfaces, poor property visuals, and unclear pricing making it hard to confidently decide or take action.
For first-time renters and busy professionals, this leads to:
Decision fatigue
Low trust in listings
Abandoned searches before booking
Project Goal
The goal was to design a simple, elegant, and conversion-focused mobile experience that allows users to:
Browse properties effortlessly
Visually connect with listings
Save favorites for later
Quickly move from discovery to booking
Design Approach & Thought Process
I approached this project with clarity and emotion as the core design principles.
Real estate decisions are emotional, so the interface needed to:
Feel calm and premium
Highlight high-quality imagery
Reduce cognitive load at every step
Instead of overwhelming users with details upfront, I structured the experience to progressively reveal information allowing users to explore visually first, then dive deeper when interested.
Key Design Decisions
1. Image-First Property Discovery
Large property images dominate the interface to help users instantly imagine themselves in the space. This creates emotional engagement before any analytical decision.
2. Smart Filtering & Categories
Property types (Apartment, Bungalow, 3-Bedroom) are easily accessible at the top, enabling users to narrow results quickly without friction.
3. Clear Pricing & Location Visibility
Pricing and location are always visible on listing cards, ensuring transparency and reducing uncertainty early in the journey.
4. Favorites & Saved Listings
Users can save properties with a single tap, supporting comparison and decision-making over time without pressure.
5. Strong Call-to-Action
On the property detail screen, the “Book Now” CTA is visually emphasized, guiding users toward conversion once confidence is established.
