Lazpad: Shaping a padel tech concept from idea to investor-ready visuals

LazPad is a smart padel training system created to improve on-court training through visual guidance and feedback. I worked closely with the founder to research, validate and visually communicate the concept, with the main goal of preparing the project for investor discussions.

Approach

The client came with an initial idea. The first step was validating that idea before jumping into visuals.
I started by researching whether the concept made sense in a real padel context: where the system could be positioned, how it would actually be used during training sessions, and what level of technology would realistically be required.
Once the idea was validated and refined, I moved into ideation, sketching and 3D work, using visuals as a tool to clarify the system, align decisions and build a solid narrative for investor-facing presentations.

The Strategic Challenge

The key challenge was to make a complex technical concept understandable and credible for investors and stakeholders.
The visuals needed to:
Clearly explain the system’s position on the court
Show real usage scenarios, not abstract ideas
Communicate technical plausibility without engineering overload
Support confidence in the product’s feasibility and direction

Creative Execution

Idea validation through research (positioning, usage, required technology and mechanism)
Early ideation and system definition through sketching
Concept refinement aligned with investor-facing needs
3D CAD modeling of the device
Product and contextual 3D visualization
Visual storytelling for pitch and presentations
Explainer / concept video for investor communication

Results & Impact

The outcome is a clear, structured and realistic visual representation of LazPad, designed to support investor conversations.
The materials help:
Communicate the concept quickly and clearly
Reduce uncertainty around usage and feasibility
Align stakeholders around a shared vision
Present the project in a credible, professional way
Visually, the project brings clarity, trust and realism, allowing the idea to be evaluated as a serious product, not just a concept.

Validated an initial idea and shape it into a feasible, real-world training system, ready to be presented to investors. A great example of industrial design.
