overview: This project focused on setting up and managing a marketing automation system using a CRM platform to improve audience engagement, streamline communication, and boost campaign performance. The platform includes tools for managing contacts, building campaigns, creating automation workflows, and analyzing performance via reports and trends. Goals To create a complete automated customer journey (e.g., welcome sequences, post-purchase flows).
Improve email engagement and reduce manual communication tasks.
Segment the audience based on behavior and interactions.
Track performance metrics like opens, click-throughs, and unsubscribes.
Increase overall campaign efficiency and conversion rates. Challenges:
Initial contact list had outdated or unverified emails, affecting deliverability.
Low engagement rates in early campaigns (high unsubscribes, low CTR).
The system lacked automation structure — sequences weren’t triggered properly.
Difficulty in syncing forms and lists for accurate segmentation.
Learning curve with setting up conditional logic in automation. Solution & Outcome:
I revamped the automation structure by creating clear, behavior-based workflows (e.g., welcome series, abandoned cart, and post-purchase). I cleaned and segmented the contact list, designed engaging templates, and added performance tracking.
What I learned:
Deepened my expertise in CRM automation and email marketing strategies.
Understood the importance of list hygiene, audience segmentation, and timely follow-ups.
Result:
Improved open and click-through rates significantly.
Reduced unsubscribe rates.
