Filmsupply, the global leader in cinematic footage licensing, was looking for a way to announce its complimentary footage research service to an audience of agency creatives. This white glove service was not well known among Filmsupply's clients, but it was extremely helpful to the filmmakers who were aware of it.
IDEA
Create a campaign around an outlandish research device (IFRD) that humorously claims to simplify an already straightforward process — providing comedic entertainment with a vintage-style, one-button phone solution. This method allowed us to create a buzz with senior-level decision-makers notifying them of the service in a light-hearted way.
By manufacturing and sending 5G retro phones to a select number of agencies and editing houses the physical representation of the campaign created a playful "I can't believe this is real" atmosphere surrounding the phone and the service. The phone was available for purchase on Filmsupply's Instagram shop as well as the campaign's landing page.
Supporting campaign materials included tongue-in-cheek banner ads, a dedicated landing page, fictitious case studies, collaborative videos, and print-on-demand posters featuring the exaggerated "Easy as F" tagline.
