01 Brief This project envisions a valuable new business opportunity that leverages drones and other emerging technologies within the next ten years. Urban Kite is a drone signage system that provides dynamic display for traffic and large public events.

02 Problem

With the continuous increase in vehicles worldwide, congestion has become one of the most critical urban problems — especially during emergencies and temporary situations. Drivers sit and wait while police and road workers manage the scene by hand.

03 Solution

Urban Kite is a drone signage system that displays police-customized information to guide drivers. It responds instantly to any emergency or temporary traffic situation, working in any location without a human operator.

Scenarios Six steps, fully autonomous — from dispatch to battery swap, the officer only chooses what to display. A drone releases from the patrol-car roof, commands traffic, then lands to charge as another takes over.

Drone propeller module Twin coaxial rotors keep the unit stable in wind and let it hold position over a lane for as long as the mission needs.

LED screens Full-color panels on all four faces display police-customized signage — arrows, STOP, DETOUR — readable from every approach.

Screen shields Impact- and glare-resistant covers protect the displays and keep them legible in direct sunlight.

Waterproof rubber seal A gasketed enclosure seals out rain and dust so the unit can deploy in any weather.

Proximity sensor module Corner sensors detect vehicles and obstacles, holding a safe distance as the kite maneuvers into place.

Central control & battery A swappable battery and onboard controller run the flight system and receive commands from the police console.
