Mistral is a seed stage venture capital firm based in Ontario, Canada. I collaborated with
Athorn Clark & Partners to create a refreshed visual identity and website that modernized the brand’s appearance while aligning to their vision and values. Mistral’s name comes from a word that means “a strong, northwesterly wind,” so we established a logo and graphic elements to communicate that concept in a way that was equally simple and impactful. With people ultimately at the center of the company’s mission, we also gave more prominence to the founders behind the startups in their portfolio. By emphasizing the relationship with each founder, we were able to develop a more human-centered, value-driven message that highlighted how Mistral’s investments have played an invaluable role in the growth of many unique, idea-driven companies.
