Street2Seat | Framer Localization, Technical SEO & UX Modifications for a Hospitality Advisory
Street2Seat is a performance consultancy for restaurants in busy streets and tourist areas, built on 25 years of hands-on hospitality experience. The founder had a Framer site, but it wasn’t working for him: English only, broken locale setup, no clear way to get in touch, and nothing in place for Google or privacy.
I started with an audit of the site’s structure, SEO and positioning, and then proposed options in packages. We agreed on a focused one-week scope: fix the foundations, make the site bilingual and get it ready to bring in clients.
Goals
Turn an English-only Framer site into a Greek–English site, with Greek as the main language.
Give venue owners a clear, low-risk way to get in touch, and give the founder enough context to prepare for each conversation.
Make the site visible on Google in both languages.
Make it GDPR-compliant, with analytics that respect visitor consent.
Deliver all of this in a focused one-week scope.
Challenges
Broken locale setup: a locale with the wrong language code, 0% translated, plus a duplicate paid locale the client didn’t need.
No path to conversion: no qualification form and no direct contact channels, so visitors had no clear next step.
Media per language: the client wanted different videos in each language. Framer’s Localization panel only handles text and images, so this needed another approach.
Analytics loading without consent: Google Analytics was added through site settings, so it ran before visitors made a cookie choice.
Scope creep: after the kickoff, new requests came up (redesign, copywriting, new sections, ads) that went beyond the agreed package.
Outcome
Bilingual site: Greek default, English secondary. All content and the cookie banner are translated, and the duplicate locale is removed, which cut an unnecessary cost.
Different video per language, done with Framer’s Locale variable and component variants.
Lead qualification form that captures venue size, location, nearby competition and the owner’s main challenge, alongside direct WhatsApp and email channels and a “first two days free” section that removes the risk of getting in touch.
Technical SEO in place: titles and meta descriptions per language, semantic HTML, correct hreflang and canonical tags, sitemap submitted and Search Console verified.
GDPR-compliant tracking: a bilingual privacy policy, and GA4 moved behind the cookie banner on Consent Mode. Tested so that no analytics cookies are set after a visitor rejects.
Responsive fixes on tablet and mobile, plus a new footer and a language selector.
Delivered on scope, with additional requests quoted separately, so the client got a clear choice: add them now, or finish the package and move on to a second phase.
