I led survey administration, data analysis, and reporting for a USDA-funded study evaluating how well the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) serves homebound and elderly populations. The project assessed agency capacity, outreach strategies, and operational challenges across 95 Tribal and State-administered programs.
I cleaned and transformed survey data, conducted ANOVA and Chi-Square tests to identify differences by region and program size, and performed thematic analysis of open-ended responses. I also created targeted visualizations to clearly communicate key trends.
The study found that while most agencies offer flexible distribution options, many face barriers such as staffing shortages, vehicle limitations, and rigid eligibility policies. I synthesized these findings into actionable recommendations—such as improving food options, expanding home delivery funding, and simplifying application procedures—which were delivered to USDA leadership to inform policy decisions.
This project demonstrates my ability to perform rigorous analytic tasks, translating data into clear, impactful insights for program improvement.
Analyzed USDA survey data on food access for elderly/homebound groups; ran stats, coded open-ends, and visualized insights to guide key program decisions.
