📍Brief Overview:

The Sustainability Report Management project focuses on preventing, predicting, and resolving obsolescence in component discontinuance. The project aims to develop strategies for timely identification and reaction to obsolescence, provide access to comprehensive component obsolescence information, and conduct regular reviews to proactively address discontinuance.

🔎So what was the problem?

The current process of sustainability report management lacks efficient handling of file uploads, limited file size acceptance, and specified file formats. Additionally, the absence of a comprehensive table to display relevant report details such as latest report date, obsolescence status, end of life information, and sole source data creates challenges in monitoring and managing reports. Furthermore, the absence of quick actions within the table, such as viewing, exporting, and deleting reports, hinders streamlined report management.There is a need for a solution that addresses these pain points, providing a user-friendly interface for uploading reports, accommodating various file sizes and formats, offering a comprehensive table view with essential report details, and incorporating quick actions for efficient report handling.





💡What did the proposed solution include?

The proposed solution will enhance the file upload section to accommodate various file sizes and formats. It involves designing a comprehensive report table displaying key details like report name, latest date, obsolescence status, and sole source data. Quick actions such as view, export, and delete are added to the table. The user interface is made intuitive, ensuring a seamless experience. Scalability and performance optimizations are implemented, along with robust error handling and reporting. This solution improves sustainability report management, usability, and system performance.




🚀Research:

✅File Upload Efficiency:

Through user interviews and surveys conducted as part of the UX research process, we identified significant pain points in the current file upload process of the sustainability report management system. Users consistently expressed their struggles with limitations on file size acceptance and specified formats, which resulted in frustration and inefficiency. It became apparent that there is a strong need for a more flexible and user-friendly file upload feature that can accommodate various file sizes and formats, addressing the limitations users currently face.

✅Lack of Comprehensive Report Table:

Usability testing sessions were conducted with users to evaluate the existing report display and management within the sustainability report management system. The findings revealed that the absence of a comprehensive table significantly hindered users' ability to effectively monitor and manage their reports. Users expressed difficulty in tracking essential report details, including the latest report date, obsolescence status, end of life information, and sole source data. They emphasized the importance of having a centralized view that presents all relevant report information in an organized and easily accessible manner. These insights highlight the necessity of implementing a comprehensive table view to enhance users' ability to track and manage reports efficiently.

✅Absence of Quick Actions:

Feedback sessions were conducted, and user interactions with the existing report management interface were observed as part of the UX research. During these sessions, a significant pain point was identified regarding the lack of quick actions within the report table. Users expressed their need for streamlined report handling, specifically requesting quick actions such as viewing, exporting, and deleting reports directly from the table itself. They emphasized the importance of reducing the number of steps and interactions required to perform common report management tasks. These insights underscore the necessity of incorporating efficient and intuitive quick actions within the report table to enhance the overall user experience and expedite report management tasks.

Based on the above UX research findings, it is evident that the current sustainability report management system lacks efficiency in file uploads, comprehensive report display, and quick actions. Users expressed the need for an improved user-friendly interface that addresses these pain points. The research highlights the importance of developing a solution that allows flexible file uploads, provides a comprehensive table view with essential report details, and incorporates quick actions for efficient report handling.

The proposed solution, derived from extensive UX research and analysis, promises to have a significant impact on sustainability report management. By addressing the pain points identified through user interviews, usability testing, and feedback sessions, the solution aims to bring about improvements in file upload efficiency, comprehensive report display, and streamlined report handling. The enhanced file upload feature, accommodating various file sizes and formats, will alleviate user frustration and improve efficiency. The implementation of a comprehensive report table, displaying essential details in an organized manner, will empower users to monitor and manage reports effectively. Furthermore, the incorporation of quick actions within the table will streamline common report management tasks, reducing steps and interactions. Overall, the solution is expected to optimize the user experience, increase productivity, and enhance the efficiency of sustainability report management processes.
