Q-Park Mobile App Redesign & UX Transformation

Q-park mobile app design

When I joined Q-Park, the company already had a mobile app in place. But at that time, the app was limited to just one function: showing Q-Park locations. It had potential, but it wasn’t delivering the seamless experience modern drivers expect.
As a UX Designer, I was brought in to help reimagine what the app could be. Together with the team, I explored how to expand its role — not just to display parking facilities, but to handle the entire journey: from finding a spot to paying for it, and even extending into street parking.
I mapped the existing customer journey and uncovered key friction points. From there, I designed and tested new flows, introducing features like cashless payments, digital subscriptions, and automatic access to garages. Usability testing with real drivers was essential; their feedback shaped every iteration.
The transformation turned the app from a static directory into a dynamic mobility tool. Covering more than 3,000 Q-Park locations across Europe, the app quickly became a central part of the parking experience. It gained strong traction with users and even reached the #1 spot in the App Store for navigation apps in the Netherlands.
Today, the Q-Park app allows drivers to search, book, and pay for parking directly on their phones — making the experience faster, smarter, and more intuitive. For Q-Park, it meant moving from being just a parking provider to offering a full-service digital solution used daily by thousands of drivers across Europe.
