Buoy was a relatively new company and a familiar story was playing out; the three founders were rushed off their feet managing everything from product design to content marketing. Unfortunately, it was limiting their growth as a business and operators — they were too busy to focus on the high-value goals that would help them scale and grow.
As a result, they were stagnating.
Moreover, they relied on a single distribution channel ⎯ Amazon. If they were kicked off the famously volatile platform, it would leave the business with no route to market. They needed to create their own web presence.
The founders had little prior experience with online marketing or putting together a team, and weren’t sure how to proceed. They contacted BERK Labs for help on how to grow their business, but more than that, they wanted to learn how to do it themselves. For Buoy, this partnership was about acquiring expertise that would let them create their own path.
