Potatobook is a mobile budgeting app I designed and developed at 7 Seers for a simple but overlooked insight: people don't fail at budgeting because they're bad with money. They fail because most tools make budgeting feel stressful and discouraging.

Before designing a single screen, I asked one question repeatedly: how should this feel for someone who is already anxious about money? That question shaped every decision, from the onboarding flow to the dashboard layout to the color palette.

The onboarding was designed to feel like a calm conversation, not a setup checklist. Instead of starting with income and expenses, we started with life context: who you are, what you do, where you are in life. Structure came later, only after the user felt comfortable.

The dashboard was built around awareness, not judgment. No harsh warnings, no red alerts. Just a clear, honest view of where your money stands so users feel safe opening the app every day. The free version builds that habit. The Pro version deepens it with advanced insights and tools.

The full design system was built in Figma using Inter as the typeface with a green, white, and black palette chosen specifically to feel calm and readable under financial stress.
