Case Study — “Reduce Your Rate” Animated Explainer Video
The client is a U.S.-based financial services company focused on helping everyday customers improve their financial well-being. Their platform offers tools that simplify personal finance, making processes like reducing interest rates, refinancing, or optimizing loan payments fast and accessible to a broad audience.
Project Overview
The client needed a short, clear, and visually engaging explainer video to communicate how users could easily lower their rates through their platform. The goal was to take a potentially complex financial process and make it feel simple, friendly, and approachable through animation.
Objective
Explain the “Reduce Your Rate” feature quickly and clearly
Build trust through clean visuals and smooth motion
Maintain brand identity while adding fresh, modern animation
Create a video that could be used across multiple platforms (web, email, social)
My Role
2D animation in After Effects
Sound design + music selection
Final delivery in multiple formats
Process
Using After Effects, I animated the full video applying:
Clean transitions
Character movement conveying ease and confidence
Iconography animation for clarity
Visual metaphors to explain abstract financial concepts
The motion language was designed to feel soft, smooth, and reassuring. I added sound design and selected light, positive background music to reinforce the video’s approachable tone without distracting from the message.
The final video was delivered in high-resolution formats optimized for web and social media.
