Case Study: AutoMercado – Brand Manifesto Video

For AutoMercado’s annual conference in Costa Rica, the brand needed a manifesto that could set the emotional and thematic tone of the event. The video was intended to reaffirm the company’s values, highlight its commitment to quality, and celebrate the essential contribution of its partners and suppliers. Our team was responsible for bringing this vision to life through carefully crafted 2D animation, transforming the manifesto into a dynamic piece that resonated with the audience from the very first moments of the presentation.

Context & Challenge

As one of Costa Rica’s most trusted retail brands, AutoMercado relies on a close relationship with a diverse network of suppliers. The annual presentation is a key moment of alignment, where the brand shares upcoming priorities, reflects on achievements, and strengthens the sense of community within its value chain. The challenge was to produce a manifesto that felt both inspiring and authentic—something that could speak to the heart of the brand while acknowledging the indispensable role of the partners gathered in the room. It needed to elevate the event beyond a standard corporate gathering and leave a lasting impression.

Creative Concept

The creative approach was articulated through the idea “Juntos damos vida al mercado”—a message that emphasizes unity and shared purpose. Instead of focusing on operational details, the video portrayed AutoMercado as a living ecosystem of people, communities, values, and processes that come together harmoniously. The 2D animation style allowed us to visually express this interconnectedness in a warm and poetic way, moving fluidly between scenes that represented producers, suppliers, the stores, and the everyday experiences of customers. The tone was crafted to be uplifting and human, reinforcing the idea that AutoMercado’s strength lies in collective effort.

Production Approach

The aesthetic relied on clean lines, gentle movements, and a color palette consistent with the brand, ensuring visual coherence across all scenes. Characters, environments, and conceptual elements were animated in a smooth and organic manner to reflect continuity and long-term vision. The final composition and timing were designed to create an emotional build-up, allowing the video to open the event with clarity and intention.
The visual language was designed to feel contemporary and accessible, using 2D illustration to evoke warmth, professionalism, and simplicity. Motion played a key role in creating symbolic transitions between different parts of the value chain, reinforcing the idea of an ecosystem that flows naturally. The use of AutoMercado’s greens and warm neutrals strengthened the connection to the brand, while a soft rhythm in the animation helped convey optimism and a sense of shared progress.

Takeaways

This project demonstrated how a well-crafted manifesto can play a strategic role in corporate communication, especially during moments of alignment. Animation proved to be an effective storytelling medium, capable of condensing complex values into a warm, engaging, and memorable visual experience. For AutoMercado, the piece offered a renewed sense of purpose and reinforced the belief that meaningful connections—between the brand, its suppliers, and its customers—are at the heart of every success.
