Unlok web: a trading platform for US stocks

Hansraj Saini

Hansraj Saini

The web platform where Unlok customers research and trade US stocks. I built the screener, quote pages, order ticket, price alerts and the notification server behind them. Built at Kupa, 2024–26.

The problem

Unlok lets people invest in US stocks and ETFs. Before they trade, they research: they filter the market, read a company's numbers, watch for earnings and dividends, and want to know the moment a price moves.
Every one of those jobs runs on live data, and the screen has to stay calm while it changes. A trader who misreads an order ticket loses real money.

What I did

I built the screener: stocks and ETFs filtered by exchange, market cap, price, sector, P/E, beta, dividend yield and more, with curated screens like Momentum Masters one click away.
I built the company quote page: the chart, then the company's profile, financial statements, earnings against consensus, news and events, for every listed symbol.
I built the order ticket: buy or sell from a paper or a live account, with order type, time in force, trading session and the estimated total with fees, before the order goes to review.
Creating a price alert for Eli Lilly: price above 1,240.34

I built price alerts with one or more conditions, the portfolio events feed of dividends, IPOs and other corporate actions, and the calendars for earnings, IPOs, dividends, splits and economic releases.
Behind them, I built the event server that turns market and account events into notifications by email, web push, mobile push and in the app, each sent the way the person asked for it.

Highlights

Open to guests. Anyone can use the screener, quote pages and calendars without an account, then sign in to trade.
Numbers before the trade. Every quote page carries the company's statements, earnings against consensus, news and upcoming events.
Alerts with conditions. A price alert takes one condition or several, and arrives by email, push or in the app.
One event server. Dividends, IPOs and price alerts flow through one server, which decides how each person hears about them.

Where it stands now

Unlok web is live at app.unlok.com. Anyone can open the screener, quote pages and calendars as a guest; signed-in customers trade, set alerts and get notified from the same platform.
