UConn’s Digital Media & Design program provides an innovative and transformative experience that employs the use of industry-leading concepts and technologies to educate. Students can dive into many career paths with DMD and get a glimpse of what working in the industry feels like. The designs aim to capture the core values of the department and attract prospective students to enter the world of innovation.

Challenges & Result

To successfully implement the campaign while expecting significant results, the team had to come up with a way to deviate from legacy designs put out by the department and find a method of highlighting key aspects of DMD while keeping the attractiveness of the final deliverable. Because the designs were mainly meant for physical billboards, which meant our text implementation must guarantee a clear read for passengers within an extremely limited time frame.
The solution to this was coming up with a design that puts words like "design" and "create" in bold so it leaves the strongest impression on the targeted audiences. The main focal point, in this case, the word, was put inside a rectangular box sealed with the word "together" to further emphasize the inclusivity of the DMD department.
This campaign ran from the end of October 2021 to the summer of 2022 and yielded a total of 700,000 impressions and over 100,000 leads to the official Digital Media & Design website. The social media accounts under our operations showed growth of ~17% with the followers on Instagram going up from 1328 to 1582.
