About

KULA is a real estate startup preparing for their seed round of funding. As non-marketing founders, they approached us for help in creating a minimal viable brand (MVB) to appear professional during their pitch to investors. With a tight budget and self-funding, they needed a cost-effective solution to get started.
Challenge:KULA's founders lacked marketing experience and needed guidance to create a professional and cohesive brand identity. They needed a clear vision and mission statement for their pitch deck, along with a defined service offering statement that effectively communicated their value proposition to potential investors.

Solution

We offered KULA our MVB package, which provided them with everything they needed to create a visually-pleasing and professional brand identity for their pitch.
Here's how we did it:
Phase 1 — Pitch Story We conducted a deep dive session with the founders to understand the deep drivers behind their business. This helped us uncover their "why/how/what" and allowed us to write a clear vision and mission statement for their pitch deck. We also helped them clarify their service offering statement ("Kula is ... that provide ... for ...").
Phase 2 — Visual Moodboard We asked the client to create a Pinterest board and add all imagery related to their project. This helped us understand their brand persona and get a feel for their design preferences.
Phase 3 — Brand Visual ID Using Canva, we created a wordmark logo, selected two fonts, and developed a color palette. This created a cohesive and visually-pleasing brand identity that would resonate with their target audience.
Phase 4 — Brand Guideline We compiled everything into a brand guideline deck that KULA could use to brief their slide designer partner. This helped ensure that their pitch deck remained consistent with their brand identity.

The result

The team at KULA is now out pitching their project to investors with a visually-pleasing and professional deck.
The deck shows they've thought about their branding, which is key as a B2C company.
