I recently had the opportunity to work with five professionals across the tech and gaming sectors, reviewing and editing their resumes for various roles such as Technical QA Manager, Marketing Analyst, Marketing Program Manager, and Partnerships and Promotions Manager.
My approach not only involved a comprehensive analysis of the content, format, and design or each resume to ensure it was optimized for both applicant tracking systems (ATS) and of course, human review, but I also interviewed each client to ensure they were presenting themselves as they wanted to be seen while also highlighting what made them unique.
I provided feedback both verbally and written on how to best showcase relevant skills, experiences and accomplishments, or in some cases, helping craft bridge skills for new roles, while also tailoring the language and keywords to match industry standards and job requirements. If necessary, I supported by repositioning their "professional brand" to align with their career goals.
Throughout the process, I maintained open communication with each client, providing detailed feedback and incorporating their input to ensure the final product met their unique needs and preferences and made them stand out as them!
Happy to report as of this time, 3 out of 5 professionals have landed new positions or directions moving forward.
