Code For Coffee

Jason King

We spoke developers’ language by placing code on signage in bars, delis, and coffee shops in one city at a time: NYC, San Francisco, and Chicago.
If developers deciphered the code, they would get a free coffee or treat on us.
Each city iteration improved nuances such as the code locations, syntax, design, and more.
The signage, organic, and paid social reached hundreds of developers per city, ultimately driving a 92% increase in platform sandbox sign-ups.

Cafes displayed a uniquely crafted message, written in code, inviting all developers who could read it to enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat on us.
