VITA – Travel Platform UI/UX Design Case Study

I was working on a full UI/UX design project for VITA, a premium wellness travel platform that connects users with curated retreats, fitness camps, and holistic travel experiences ✈️
The main idea behind this project was to solve a very real problem in the wellness travel space. Most experiences are scattered across different platforms, social media pages, and small independent websites. I wanted to bring everything into one calm, structured, and easy-to-use platform where people can discover and book meaningful wellness journeys.
Instead of building a typical travel marketplace, I focused on creating a calm, editorial-style experience that feels more like a guided journey than a search engine.

✨ Project Overview

VITA was designed as a wellness-focused travel marketplace that brings together retreats, adventure experiences, and boutique stays into one unified platform.
I worked on the complete UI/UX design including the web platform, mobile responsive layouts, and app interface. The goal was to create a seamless experience where users can explore destinations, compare retreats, and book experiences with confidence.
The platform was built for modern wellness travelers looking for more intentional and meaningful travel experiences. Everything from yoga retreats to detox programs and adventure camps was curated and structured in a way that feels inspiring rather than overwhelming.
The visual direction was calm, minimal, and editorial, with a strong focus on clarity, emotional storytelling, and ease of navigation.

🎯 Problem

The wellness travel industry is growing fast, but it’s also highly fragmented. Users often struggle to find reliable and well-organized information about retreats and experiences.
I wanted to solve a few key problems:
• Retreats are scattered across multiple platforms and social media pages • Users struggle to compare and filter experiences easily • Booking journeys feel disconnected and unstructured • Lack of personalization in wellness travel recommendations • Overwhelming interfaces that reduce trust and clarity
The challenge was to design a system that feels both inspiring and functional while still keeping the emotional calmness that wellness travel requires.

💡 My Approach / Solution

I started by understanding the emotional state of a wellness traveler. Most users are not just booking a trip, they are looking for transformation, rest, or personal growth. That insight shaped the entire design direction.
I focused on creating a calm and guided experience instead of a traditional search-heavy interface.
The design system was built around soft spacing, editorial layouts, and a minimal color palette to keep the experience peaceful and distraction-free.
For discovery, I introduced structured navigation systems like curated categories, smart filters, and a global map view so users could explore destinations intuitively.
I also designed an AI-powered quiz experience that helps users find retreats based on their goals like mindfulness, fitness, detox, or adventure. This made the experience feel more personal and less like browsing a marketplace.
Throughout the project, I kept testing how each screen flows into the next to ensure the entire journey feels smooth and intentional.

🛠️ Process

Here’s how I approached the project step by step:
• Understanding the wellness travel audience and user behavior • Researching travel marketplaces and wellness retreat platforms • Building user flows for discovery, filtering, and booking • Designing wireframes for web, mobile, and app layouts • Creating a calm editorial UI system with consistent spacing • Designing key features like filters, map navigation, and AI quiz • Refining UX flows for smoother discovery and decision-making • Building responsive layouts for all screen sizes • Finalizing UI screens and interaction-ready designs

Tools I Used

• Figma • UX flow mapping tools • Design systems and component libraries • Prototype tools for interaction testing
