Digital Product Design: Revamping Digital Experience for Communal Services Association

VKU / Strategic Website Redesign

As a consulting Digital Product Designer for VKU (Verband kommunaler Unternehmen e.V.), the German Association of Local Public Utilities, I led a strategic website redesign project aimed at enhancing user experience and achieving key business objectives.

This ongoing project focuses on improving the digital presence of an organization that serves as a crucial link between communal companies and their stakeholders.

Strategic Business Alignment: Developed targeted strategies to improve business goals, particularly focusing on streamlining the process of purchasing conference tickets for both long-time users and potential new customers.

Information Architecture Overhaul: Completely restructured the website's information architecture to enhance navigation and improve overall user flow, making it easier for visitors to find relevant information and services.

User Experience Enhancement: Redesigned key pages with a focus on user experience, balancing the needs of experienced users familiar with the old system and new visitors exploring VKU's services for the first time.

Design Within Constraints: Successfully modernized the design while working within the constraints of existing Visual Guidelines, demonstrating adaptability and creativity in bridging established brand identity with contemporary design principles.

Stakeholder Management: Collaborated closely with various departments within VKU to ensure the redesign met the diverse needs of the organization and its members, facilitating buy-in across the association.

This project showcases my ability to tackle complex redesign challenges for established organizations. By focusing on user needs while respecting existing brand guidelines, I'm contributing to creating a more efficient, user-friendly digital platform that supports VKU's mission of representing and supporting local public utilities in Germany.
