TaxBot.pk — Automated FBR Tax Filing for Freelancers

Most Pakistani freelancers are overpaying tax by 4x and don't know it.
Under Section 154A, a PSEB-registered freelancer exporting services pays 0.25%. Without that registration you're on the standard 1%. Same income, same work, four times the tax — and the difference is a registration most people have never been told about. On PKR 200,000 a month, that's PKR 18,000 a year sitting on the table.
The second problem is that even people who know the rate don't file, because filing means an accountant, and an accountant costs more than the tax does. So they skip it, and then the compliance risk quietly compounds.
TaxBot.pk exists to remove both excuses.

What it does

Calculate — enter your foreign income in USD or PKR, toggle your PSEB status, and get your exact FBR liability at the flat rate on gross income. No slabs, no deductions, no guessing. Live SBP inter-bank exchange rate support so the conversion matches what the FBR will see.
Log — record monthly income against ePRC references, building a timestamped audit trail aligned with FBR requirements rather than a spreadsheet you'd have to defend.
File — one click generates a formatted, audit-ready PDF report for submission.
There's also a savings slider that shows the PSEB-versus-standard gap across a year at your income level, because the abstract percentage means nothing and the annual rupee figure means everything.

The decision I'd defend

The calculator is free, requires no login, and sits on the landing page.
Everything about conventional funnel design says put it behind an email gate — it's the single most valuable thing on the site, and gating it would produce a list. I put it in the open because of who this is for. A freelancer who suspects they're overpaying tax is already anxious, already half-expecting the site to be another thing trying to extract something from them. Asking for an email before answering the question confirms that suspicion and loses the person you were built for.
Answer the question first. If the number is a shock — and for most people it is — they'll come back to file.

The other decision, which was harder

I wrote it in the voice freelancers actually use. "The FBR won't ghost you if you file first. No cap." "Your accountant charges more than your entire PSEB tax bill."
Tax software is written in defensive institutional language, and there's a reason for that: it signals seriousness, and nobody wants a joke on a compliance product. I took the risk anyway. The audience is Pakistan's 1.5 million-plus freelancers, most of them young, most of them avoiding this subject because every existing source makes them feel stupid for not already understanding it. Sounding like a person rather than a tax authority is not decoration here — it's the thing that gets someone to enter a number instead of closing the tab.
