Inflow — a financial operating system for freelancers who are tired of guessing
I built Inflow because I'm tired of the mental math freelancers do every single day—who owes me money, when it's actually landing, and how close I am to the number I actually need this month. Every invoicing tool I've used feels like it was built for accountants, not for someone juggling three clients and trying to figure out if they can pay rent.
So I designed the thing I actually wanted: one screen that shows me exactly how close I am to my goal (not just "money earned," but progress); a pipeline that tracks clients the way they actually move—from a maybe to a pitch to active work to paid; and a payout screen that breaks down the math instead of just showing a number and hoping I trust it.
The whole thing is wrapped in a warm, editorial aesthetic—cream paper, sage green, terracotta, and a hand-drawn botanical vine wrapping the earnings ring—because I wanted it to feel calm, not like a spreadsheet yelling at me. Freelance income is stressful enough without the app adding to it.
This is a prototype, not a finished product—but it's the app I'd actually open every morning if it existed. I also connected Claude directly to Flowstep through MCP so I could describe changes in plain language—new screens, fixing broken navigation, refining the botanical icon—and have them built straight into the Flowstep file itself, rather than switching tools constantly. Connected Claude to Flowstep via MCP to design, debug, and refine every screen in plain language. @flowstep_ai #FlowstepChallenge
