This project had a simple goal: create a mascot that feels fun, genuine, and expressive. The exploration started with loose Procreate sketches, playing with shapes and personality until I had a set of strong, distinct options.

After a few rounds of feedback and some meticulous “hair-styling” of the character, we locked in the final look.

Next came bringing it to life. I began with a new hand-drawn exploration stage, sketching rough frame-by-frame animations to nail the tone, rhythm, and mood of each reaction.

From there, I selected the strongest directions and created the final smooth vector animations in Rive, connecting everything through a state machine. I also used simple data binding to let the mascot scale dynamically to the screen.

And voilà, the final result. The mascot shifts moods based on user actions, with smooth, energetic movements that feel light, friendly and full of personality. It’s the kind of animation work I love: playful, character-driven and designed to make every interaction feel more engaging.
