Refurbished office tech isn’t exactly thrilling, so I set out to make it fun. For marmalade.ink, a new Italian startup, I created a brand identity that turns dull printers and monitors into something playful and full of character.
It all started with Nik, the mascot. Cheeky, bold, and designed to stand out. I brought him to life through custom illustrations, smooth animations, and lightweight Lottie files for the web. Paired with a retro-inspired visual language and a fresh digital presence, the brand suddenly felt colourful, approachable, and impossible to ignore.
I've designed more than 50 Nik variations and only the best ones were chosen to represent the brand
What began as a simple logo redesign grew into a complete identity with a new tone of voice, a flexible design system, and a personality that makes refurbished tech feel exciting.
