Project Description

I helped launch The Archive Project, a digital platform offering users access to a curated library of National Archives videos. As the front-end lead, I turned my partners’ vision into a polished, high-performing website that allows streaming, searching, and downloading of videos in multiple formats. The platform has already gained traction, growing to 500 users in the first three months with consistent sign-ups and downloads.

The Challenge

Building a Seamless Front-End for a Complex Back-End
My partners had extensive back-end infrastructure and business strategy but needed a fully functional front end
Required a responsive, intuitive interface to interact with 80,000+ digitized videos
Needed secure authentication and payment processing for a service not previously available in the market

My Role

Front-End Lead & UX Collaborator

Worked closely with partners and designer to ensure UX was intuitive and feasible
Built a fully responsive website with Nuxt and Vue.js
Managed state with Pinia and integrated the front end with a custom API
Implemented video streaming in a custom video player.
Implemented dynamic video components, Firebase login, and Stripe payments

The Approach

Design. Build. Integrate.
Collaborated with designer and partners to validate UX and functionality
Connected the front end to back-end APIs for video search, streaming, and download
Built dynamic, reusable components for user interaction with video content
Ensured secure and seamless authentication and payment flows

The Results

A High-Quality, Performant Platform
Platform reached 500 users in the first three months
Consistent sign-ups averaging 20 per month
At least one video download per day
Fully functional, scalable, and responsive site ready for growth

The Value Delivered

Bringing Ideas to Life with High-Impact Execution
I helped my partners turn their vision into a polished, high-performing digital product. By focusing on UX, performance, and scalable architecture, I ensured the platform is ready to support users streaming, searching, and downloading tens of thousands of videos. This demonstrates my ability to bridge technical execution with business impact, making complex ideas tangible and usable for real customers.
