Mountaineer Productions - Project X | Design Package

Creating these logos for the now defunct Disney History YouTube Channel "Mountaineer Productions" were a blast. Using vintage Disneyland/Walt Disney World memorabilia and park maps as inspiration, I came up with these logos for the series "Historyland" and all of its sub-series'.

"Historyland" being the main series on the channel, I wanted to convey a sense of warmth and belonging, so I used inspiration from Main Street, USA typography from Disneyland, USA.

When you think of the word "station", of course the first thing that comes to mind is a train station. Using the attraction poster for The Disneyland Railroad, I recreated the stunning typography for the sub-series "The Animation Station".

Drawing inspiration for the sub-series "The Imagineer Frontier" was tough, but I finally settled on a "Hall of Presidents" style logo for the series explaining important Imagineers throughout the Walt Disney Company's history, and the role they played in creating what we know today as the modern theme park.

"Journey Thru Animation" surprisingly uses no inspiration from the attraction its name is based on, Adventure Thru Inner Space. Instead, I decided to take inspiration from the beautifully designed pavilion logos created for EPCOT Center in 1982.

Before we decided to swap this logo for use in "The Animation Station", I had put together this mockup "poster" recreation of The Disneyland Railroad attraction poster.

The official branding for the channel had to be something that stood out, and when I initially created this design back in 2017 to mimic the vintage Disney Channel logo, with The Matterhorn as the center icon (hence the name, Mountaineer Productions), I had to bring it into the modern times to fit with the overall aesthetic we had created for the channel.
