Recut a long-form piece this week. Pulled about 35 seconds of setup so the story opens on the moment that matters instead of the lead-up. Long-form lives or dies on pacing: which beats you let breathe, which you cut clean. The version people actually finish is rarely the one with more in it.
Cut this 15s dance reel for a studio showcase. With choreography the trick is cutting on the movement, not the music, so I synced every hard cut to a body hit and the energy never drops between angles.
Cut this narrative scene for a short film. The trick was holding on the reaction instead of the dialogue, so the tension sits on the quiet kid's face. I trimmed a few frames off each cut to keep the rhythm conversational, not staged, and graded it to a warm cafeteria tungsten to ground the room.
Cut a 12s performance spot for a marketing client this week. Led with the offer in frame one instead of the logo, then layered burned-in captions hand-corrected against the transcript so it reads with sound off. No shot runs longer than 1.5s through the first beat to hold attention past the scroll.
