A camera that unfolds. An image that follows. FOLD is an original concept film by Launch in Seven: graphite and copper, dimensional motion, and a photograph that opens into its own miniature world. Built in Blender, with creative direction, 3D materials, lighting, animation and editing developed as one connected piece. This is a fictional product concept, not client work or a manufactured camera. I just published a new @Framer template for nutritionists and health coaches. Most wellness sites are either clinical and cold or sage green with leaf illustrations. I went warmer. Cream, wheat, terracotta, print magazine spacing.

I designed and built this landing page for Atelier. It was a fun exploration of shader-driven visuals, tactile textures, and motion. Using WebGL alongside GSAP opened up a lot of possibilities for creating interactions that feel more alive, immersive, and intentional, not just animated for the sake of it. #GSAP #WebGL #Textures

Nova by Lunacy Audio is live. 10+ plugins we designed, running in the cloud and inside any DAW. For the effects we skipped After Effects and built our own tools with Claude Code. Optimized and dev ready on the first handoff.

Very happy to share that my work is on Awwwards. Again. This is my third Awwwards nomination this year. The previous two projects received an Honorable Mention and a No-Code Honors award, so let's see how this one does. Over the past few months, I've helped Rozalia Boma bring her website to life, and it's easily one of the most whimsical projects I've ever designed. Inspired by her nostalgic, multicultural YA romances, we embraced a bold Y2K aesthetic with holographic backgrounds, floating emojis, magical mouse trails, a retro music player, draggable sections, a guestbook, a dress-up mini-game, and plenty of playful interactions. To be honest, I wasn't sure a project this unconventional would resonate with a platform like Awwwards. It breaks plenty of web design conventions, but it connects deeply with its audience. Users spend an average of 4.5 minutes exploring the site, which I'm pretty proud of. If you'd like to check it out or throw a vote its way: https://www.awwwards.com/sites/rozalia-boma-writer w

One of the directions I explored for Kargen. It didn't make the final cut, but I think it holds up. We decided to go totally different route. Kargen is an AI that books freight on its own. It reads the email, quotes the load, and books the truck, day or night. The brand had to feel as fast as the product, but calm with the pace.

I joined Contra just a week ago and have mostly shared the client branding work I do through Mariya Design. But I haven't properly introduced the other branch of my practice yet: Color Systems by Mariya. It started from something I kept running into in brand and packaging work: a color palette can look beautiful and still be surprisingly difficult to use. So I began building systems around color instead of collecting combinations. Today that includes: /49 Luxury Color Systems Role-led color systems for branding and packaging. /365 Cultural Color Palettes A growing archive of color directions inspired by places, objects, materials and visual culture around the world. /Color Systems Workbook A free tool for turning color inspiration into a usable system. /Color System Sales Kit A practical tool for designers presenting and selling color direction to clients. I'll share some of the systems, visual references and thinking behind them here over the next few weeks. If you're a designer, brand strategist or just slightly obsessed with color, this side of my work is probably for you. Color Systems by Mariya mariya.design/color-systems

Hot take: aesthetics and clinical results should walk hand in hand. Most brands in this space lean into cold, sterile whites or aggressive dark tones. It reads functional, but it also feels like something you'd hide in a medicine cabinet, not display on your vanity. For this rebrand, we anchored the identity in classical beauty and organic sophistication. By combining warm earthy tones, botanical cues, and timeless iconography, we moved away from the "pharmacy product" feel into true high-end personal care. It was a deliberate shift: positioning the brand not for someone who feels like they are treating a flaw, but for someone investing in a premium daily ritual. Would a piece like this deserve a spot on your display shelf?

Seht — Haircare Product Photography Seht is a dermatologist-tested, fragrance-free haircare brand. The client came to me with a clear vision: a moodboard of minimal, editorial product photography for their shampoo and conditioner, and a request to create images in that spirit without copying any of them. The brief was clear, but it pulled in several directions: liquid in motion, foam, motion blur, dark still lifes, bright editorial rows. So before shooting anything, I built a short visual guide to hold the series together. It sets a three-tone palette, typography, camera and lighting rules, and one core restriction: only the product, its own formula, water and light in frame. From that system I produced a set of 10 campaign images, plus extra frames for social. Each one was built from the client's references, then refined through retouching so the bottles, labels and formula textures stay true to the real product. The result is a set that feels like a single campaign rather than ten separate photos, and a visual language the brand can keep building on.

That exact moment you realize nothing is holding you back anymore! I created this piece to visualize the feeling of finally breaking free after being stifled for so long, and I used Midjourney and Canva to bring this to life. This is my first post on here and I am excited to be sharing more visual storytelling here on Contra! #AICreativeDirection #Midjourney #Canva #DigitalStorytelling #AIArt #MotionDesign

BORA – Ad Creative Concept Most kitchen appliance ads sell you the warm family dinner. I wanted to try the opposite. Built this BORA concept as a portfolio piece, treating the product like architecture instead of tech – dark marble, concrete, no hands, no food styling. Just a pot, steam, and silence. The steam does all the movement in the motion piece. Typography stays out of the way – one line, low CTA, nothing fighting the composition. Turns out when you strip out the lifestyle, the price point sells itself.

Here's a short commercial I made for Wollsey, a brand that's into making and selling of bold jewelry. I made sure to preserve every single detail of the character while showcasing all the jewelry pieces using light. And yes, I made it using AI More on this project is coming.

Animated Event Video Poster | Tag der Clubkultur Dynamic motion design and video poster created for the "COREspecs" event as part of Berlin's official Tag der Clubkultur festival series. The visual concept merges an authentic underground Berlin aesthetic—featuring iconic transit motifs, gritty textures, and acid neon accents—with clean, structured typographic hierarchy and a fully synchronized lineup reveal. Software & Tools: Adobe After Effects (motion design, compositing, visual effects, and expression-driven audio reactivity), Suno AI (custom industrial/EBM sound design and score). Deliverable: Vertical looping video teaser optimized for social media promotion and digital event boards. #

Hot take: hair growth products don't have to look like medicine to work like it. Most brands in this category go clinical white and blue, it reads safe, but it also reads like something you'd hide in a drawer, not something you'd want visible on your sink. For Maneup Labs, I went almost fully black instead. That was a real risk. In a category this saturated with sterile, pharmacy-white packaging, going dark could just as easily read cold, or get lost next to competitors leaning into "clean = trustworthy." But it did the opposite: next to every clinical-looking bottle on the shelf, black reads premium, not medicinal, closer to what you'd expect from a grooming or fragrance brand than a hair-loss aisle. That's the audience shift the whole rebrand was built around, not the guy who wants to feel like he's medicating something, but the guy who wants a product that looks like it belongs on his counter. Would a bottle like this make it out of your bathroom cabinet and onto your sink? Check it out (https://contra.com/p/oN7mPNlL-maneup-labs-brand-identity-and-packaging-design)
