🚀 New Podcast Launch: The Real Place I’m excited to officially launch my podcast, The Real Place — a space for honest conversations about business systems, personal relationships, and what it really means to navigate structured spaces as a Black man. Every Thursday at 4 PM, I’ll be dropping new episodes that blend mindset, strategy, and real-life gemba stories to help you build systems that actually support your life, your work, and your people. 🎧 Watch the first episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@MFlournoyIV If you’ve ever felt stuck between who you are and the systems you’re in, this podcast is for you. Tap in, share with someone who needs it, and let’s build something real together.

Business Process Architecture & Operational Excellence | Lean Six Sigma Black Belt I help businesses grow without losing control of how they operate. As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with over 15 years leading process improvement across healthcare, higher education, and operations, I've built the systems that let organizations scale without the chaos that usually comes with growth. My work sits at the intersection of strategy and execution: process architecture, workflow redesign, SOP development, and operational diagnostics that turn "we're too busy to fix this" into a functioning system. Through Obsidian Success, I bring that same discipline to entrepreneurs and small businesses using the LEAN framework: Locate, Eliminate, Align, Normalize. The premise is simple. A business should not only grow. It should improve while it grows. What I can help with: Process mapping and workflow redesign SOP creation and documentation systems Operational audits to find where time and money are leaking Change management for teams scaling past their current systems I also host The Real Place with M. Flournoy IV, a podcast where I unpack the real reasons projects stall, teams misalign, and businesses outgrow their own processes. If you want a preview of how I think before you hire me, that's the place to start. If your business is growing faster than your systems can handle, let's fix that.

DIEM — Health & Wellness App Product Development I founded and led the development of DIEM, a multi-year health and wellness platform designed to bring nutrition, fitness, lifestyle guidance and personalized wellness information together in one experience. The idea was to go beyond a basic calorie tracker or workout app. DIEM was designed to understand the individual user—their goals, activity level, nutrition, health conditions, allergies and other profile information—and use that data to provide more relevant daily guidance. My role covered virtually every part of the product and business development process. I worked closely with professional software developers to define features, workflows, functionality, user experience, testing requirements and ongoing improvements. The developers handled the programming, while I directed what the platform needed to do and how the overall system should work. I also hired and worked with licensed dietitians, physicians and other health professionals to develop the wellness information behind the platform. That content was incorporated into formulas, rules and logic designed to provide personalized recommendations to users. DIEM included features such as personalized daily regimen items, nutrition tracking, exercise tracking, health conditions, allergies, goals, reports and wellness recommendations. Users could select goals such as losing weight, getting fit, improving overall health, toning, gaining weight or maintaining their current condition. The platform was also designed with a professional side in mind, allowing trainers, coaches and health professionals to eventually review user information, provide guidance and work more closely with their clients. Beyond the product itself, I was involved in branding, competitive research, UX direction, content development, marketing, social media, business strategy and commercialization. The larger business model included consumer subscriptions, professional accounts, corporate wellness programs and potential white-label licensing. DIEM was a substantial multi-year product-development project that brought together technology, professional wellness content, user experience and business strategy. It demonstrates my ability to take a complex idea, define how it should work, coordinate the right specialists, and develop it into a structured product with a clear path toward commercialization.
