Behind every website is a series of intentional decisions. The Central Valley Art website wasn't designed to impress. It was designed to disappear. Not literally—but in the sense that the interface steps back and lets the artwork, films, and stories become the focus. Some of the design decisions behind the project included: ✅ Creating an editorial-inspired layout that guides visitors naturally through exhibitions, films, and artist stories. ✅ Using generous whitespace so each piece of artwork has room to breathe. ✅ Designing navigation that encourages curiosity and exploration instead of rushing visitors toward a single destination. ✅ Developing everything in Webflow so the team can confidently manage the site long after launch. Great design isn't only about aesthetics. It's about creating an experience that reflects the purpose of the organization. That's the kind of work I enjoy most. ICTIM Brand Refresh — From Generic to Clinical The Irish College of Traditional and Integrative Medicine needed its visual identity to match the institution it actually is. Academically rigorous, clinically grounded, and accredited. The original palette of navy and amber gold read as informal and inconsistent with the repositioning the brand needed. The new palette centres on Ultramarine as the primary brand colour, with Dark Cyan as a secondary accent. Both colours signal precision and credibility to a healthcare professional audience, replacing the warmer, more casual tones of the original site. Inter was selected as the sole typeface across the site, PDFs, and all brand materials for its legibility and clinical neutrality. A brand guide should be documented covering colour usage, typography, voice and tone, and UI components, giving the institution a single reference point for every future decision.

A designer commented on my last post that the 3D hangar only works because every station maps to a real business function. He's right. So this one is pure function. FRICTION: one signup form, filled twice. Form A is the form everyone actually ships - placeholder-only labels, paste blocked on confirm email, password rules revealed one failure at a time, errors that only appear after you hit submit. Form B is the same six facts, designed right. The page measures your hand while you fill it - every keystroke, backspace and rage click - then draws your cursor path like a session replay and prints the bill on a receipt. My own run: 3:35 on Form A, 0:57 on Form B. 3.8x slower, 2 rage clicks, 3 submit attempts. Same person, same fake answers. The only thing that changed was the design. One page, no dependencies, nothing leaves your browser. Run it on your own hand: greenaidigital.com/friction

FOLIO - a proposal, quote and invoice engine I built from scratch in pure Python. No libraries, no JavaScript: it writes the PDF file format itself (object table, compressed streams, font metrics for exact text wrapping, clickable pay button, bookmarks). Fill a 60-second form, get a branded multi-page PDF back in under a second. Output is 5 KB. Runs on a $5 server. 14 automated tests re-parse every file it makes. Try it: web-production-4df4.up.railway.app (https://web-production-4df4.up.railway.app) - Source: github.com/GreenAiSolution/folio

Filters didn't hold. Labels did. I spent last week trying to rob my own agents. Every filter I wrote to catch a malicious instruction eventually lost - the space of wordings is infinite. What held was provenance: label every value with where it came from, and check the label where the action happens, not the string where the text arrives. An agent can read a stranger's message. It just can't let that message pick the recipient. The same shape holds between a model and a motor. Checking the destination is not enough - you have to check the swept path. Both benches run offline, deterministic, and ship with their baselines. A zero with no baseline is a marketing number. If you build agents that touch money or hardware, I would like to connect. I would rather be argued with than agreed with, and I will show you the code first. Both write-ups are on my profile.
