Print Your Fit: Parametric Sewing Pattern Engine & 3D Simulation
Fast fashion creates waste, while custom-fit clothing remains difficult to access. Standard sewing patterns often fail to reflect real bodies; manually grading patterns for different measurements is tedious and error-prone. For adaptive fashion and people underserved by conventional sizing, that gap can make sewing feel inaccessible.
The solution
Print Your Fit is a native Android tool that transforms garment inspiration and a person's measurements into a customizable sewing pattern. The pattern engine uses deterministic computational geometry and parametric drafting—not generative AI—so pattern construction is calculated from explicit measurements and rules.
A real-time 3D cloth-drape simulation helps users inspect how a garment behaves before cutting fabric. Its deterministic cloth physics account for mass, tension, volume, and inertia/drag, making fit exploration part of the pattern-making workflow.
A focused four-step workflow
The Steps of Mobile Pattern Making
Upload a Photo of Garment you want to create, an inspo pic, and/or a description (more = better)
Enter body measurements.
Adjust the parametric CAD pattern.
Export a production-ready, 36-page tiled PDF for printing on a home printer.
The linear flow takes users from inspiration to a tangible pattern while keeping measurement input and pattern adjustment explicit and understandable.
Mobile Parametric CAD (named CAD Daddy affectionately)
Technical execution
Built as a native Android application with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, Print Your Fit pairs a parametric pattern pipeline with deterministic cloth simulation. The Android APK is under 20 MB, keeping the app lightweight while delivering pattern drafting, adjustment, simulation, and export in one product.

Impact and learning
More than 200 beta testers have signed up. Their feedback supports an ongoing community feedback loop as the product develops, with adaptive fashion and more accessible custom sizing as central priorities.
