Generative Material Study: Identity Across Surfaces

Iridescence in Motion I started this piece with a static image, thinking about iridescence as a surface detail. Once motion was introduced, the original form took on a very different read. As it began to move, the image almost came to life as fabric. The motion softened the surface and turned color into something more expressive and fluid. The iridescence shows up in passing, carried by the movement rather than sitting quietly on the surface. It was interesting to watch how quickly motion shifted the perception of the original image, transforming it from an object into something that feels animated, tactile, and performative. Sometimes motion does not just add energy: it changes the entire story.

A lot of cybersecurity products are solving problems most people never actually see. Which makes the storytelling harder. You’re trying to create tension around invisible activity: background connections, third-party access, APIs talking constantly behind the scenes. For this piece with Vorlon, the goal wasn’t to make it feel “technical.” It was to make it feel real. To visualize how exposed modern SaaS environments actually are, without turning the video into a dense product walkthrough. Less noise. Less over-explaining. More focus on flow, pacing, and visual tension.

Explaining a product like Burq can get complicated fast. APIs. routing. driver networks. tracking. Easy to overpack. And when that happens, people drop off. But none of that matters if the story feels heavy. So we simplified. Instead of stacking information, we focused on flow: What it does → who it’s for → why it matters - Clean motion. - Clear pacing. - No unnecessary layers. Just enough to understand it, fast. If you’re working on something complex and it’s not landing, that’s usually where we step in.

Threadline — an interactive visual journaling experience, with walkthrough video project live demo link: https://change-height-01239730.figma.site/ Link of figma project: https://www.figma.com/make/g3yDxPG9HUqPes1raVNhUs/Threadline-interactive-experience?t=GSEKSXhZOoIR3MJR-1 Figma X Contra challenge Most journaling tools flatten memory into text boxes. Threadline turns memory into something you can see and touch. You enter a few real moments from your life, choose a thread color for each, and weave them into a canvas. The heavy ones show up as knots. You can open a knot, sit with what it carried, and reframe it in your own words. Not to erase it.. just to hold it differently. When the thread softens, the memory stays. It just doesn't pull the same way. At the end you're left with a woven cloth made from your own story. I built this for people who carry things they don't always know how to say out loud. Grief, change, loss, starting over.. those don't fit neatly into a journal entry. Sometimes it's tangled. Sometimes you don't know where to start. Threadline gives that a form: memories become threads, weight becomes tension, unresolved moments become knots, and reframed meaning becomes a gold stitch. The flow: add your moments → choose thread colors → generate your Threadline → open a knot → reframe it → keep or share the cloth. It's quiet on purpose. No streaks, no metrics, no gamification. Just a place to put what you've been carrying. And honestly, if you're carrying something right now: you don't have to carry it perfectly. That's the whole point of this thing.

Thought you guys would get a kick out of this! I'm working with a client right now to design a t-shirt for his video production studio. While we're not going with this design, I thought it was still a pretty sweet shirt design! 🙌 Whenever I do merch, I always try to make my shirt designs feel like streetwear. With this project, that was something we talked about – designing a shirt that's not necessarily a uniform, but more of an everyday shirt. I've been working at building up my Etsy shop with new designs. Typically I do stickers and shirts, but I'm wanting to get back into template design. With that being said, in the past I used Canva but decided this time to work in Adobe Express. 🙌 Created a mobile itinerary template one could use for a birthday, wedding, an anniversary or any other special occasion, all within the style of art deco. I also utilized my video editing capabilities to produce a phone mockup with the template. I believe any chance you get to utilize video for marketing your work, absolutely utilize it! Designed this poster for the 2026 Fallout Fringe Festival, an art festival located in Las Vegas. When talking with the client, we discussed utilizing some sort of atomic bomb/nuclear imagery on the poster, whether it be a mushroom cloud from a nuclear explosion or some sort of rocket. I had the idea to create an atomic core, cracking and emitting a green glow, capturing the message that ideas are about to detonate at the festival. I referenced a lot of historical images of cores that were used for atomic bombs, including the Oppenheimer atom bomb core. I also referenced a lot of 80s horror film posters to see what color schemes were used and how they were textured.
